FAQ
What is Reiki?
“Rei” means “spiritual force or intelligence” and “ki” means “life force/energy”. Reiki
therefore, is “spiritually guided life force energy intelligence”.
All life forms vibrate with this energy. When one is ill or stressed, the amount of energy
being used to sustain health is depleted in the body. Reiki is drawn by the recipient in the
amount that is needed. A Reiki healer is one who has been initiated into the high-frequency
Reiki energy. The initiation is also called an attunement. When a person receives an
attunement, he or she is able to tap into a limitless divine source of life-force energy. Reiki is
channeled as soon as the healer places her hands on herself or someone else or conducts a
distance reiki session.
Reiki is safe, simple, and profound in its effects.
How does the body use Reiki energy?
We understand that every particle vibrates at a specific frequency. That frequency in more esoteric
terms can be termed consciousness. This consciousness is what activates all parts of our body and
synchronizes the events within our body.
Each day, our body is working to maintain balance.
Our body has a natural electromagnetic frequency that it prefers to resonate with. When all levels of
the body are in harmony with that frequency, communication is strong. The body loses its
effectiveness to heal and maintain homeostasis when the lines of communication within the body are
disrupted. These disruptions occur when we store energy that is dissonant with our natural
resonance.
We tend to store energy in the form of memories and beliefs and as they accumulate around the
same theme, the strong dissonance begins. Where our body once operated as a perfectly timed
symphony, with conflicting energy stored, we have many instruments out of tune and sync.
When a body receives Reiki energy, it is like having a light to make the body aware of the energy
that is not serving it.
The practitioner does not decide what needs to be released or when, the wisdom of the body does.
The practitioner holds the space for the bodymind to see the possibilities it can choose from with
regard to healing so the body is no longer tied to a dysfunctional way of being.
Once the body has chosen what it is ready to address, it can systematically release the stored
energy at a cellular level connected with the imbalance. The cells then begin functioning as intended
and the healing occurs on a physical as well as emotional, mental and physical level.
The body does not need to be consciously aware of what beliefs and memories it is working with,
which is one reason why Reiki can be so effective. Many of our strongly held beliefs were developed
in early childhood.
The client just needs to ensure that as the releases occur that they are aware of the process and
allow them to fall away.
With the body vibrating at a more natural state, harmony and peace on all levels can be restored.
How does distance Reiki work?
According to an ancient principal called the Hermetic Law of Similarity, we are all connected as we
are all made of energy and part of a larger whole.
Energy is not limited by distance and with the proper practitioner attunement, the practitioner can
invoke this principal and tune into the recipient's energy current, allowing them to channel reiki to
them.
It is a relaxing and beautiful experience that helps the body to de-stress and feel better overall.
What are possible Reiki side-effects?
Usually after a reiki session, you will feel relaxed and uplifted. However, sometimes side effects can
occur. As your vibration goes up, toxins that have been stored in the body will be released and removed from your energy system.
When this happens, you may experience the following:
Headache
Stomach ache
Feeling weak
Light-headedness
Strong overwhelming emotions
If this happens, drink more water, eat light meals and get lots of rest.
Your body is cleansing as part of the healing process and these side effects are a positive sign that
trauma is being released
How does crystal energy work?
Our bodies have a base resonant frequency that is an average of multiple frequencies within our body.
It is believed that our eyes, our liver, our kidneys (and so on) all have their own unique frequency and our energy field is an average of all of these frequencies combined.
Because our energy field is made up of a collection of different frequencies, we are very unstable and can be thrown off balance quite easily.
A crystal however, is not made up of a collection of frequencies which makes its energy field more stable than the body’s energy field.
Crystals have an energetic vibration based on their molecular blueprint.
When a crystal is introduced to your own energy field, it is believed that the crystal will cause your energy to go through entrainment - a process in which the body’s energy field synchronizes to the energy of the crystal.
Your energy will begin to mimic the energy of the crystal and bring you back into balance because the unstable energy field of the body will sync to the stable energy field of the crystal.
Certain crystals give off different energy vibrations and what crystal you need will change depending on what your body needs to bring itself back into balance.
Crystals are a great tool to help balance your chakras and entrain your energy field to the frequency of what you hope to manifest, helping to speed up or make the process of manifesting easier for you.
During a crystal healing session, crystals are placed along your body to encourage the entrainment of your energy field.
What are chakras?
Chakras are powerful energy points along our bodies.
There are 7 main Chakras.
Chakra means spinning wheel of energy or energy center in Sanskrit. Each of these centers is
associated with specific organs, endocrines, issues, emotions, colors and elements. Balancing these
centers can have a physical, emotional and spiritual effect on an individual.
It is not only important that each individual chakra be balanced, but that they also be balanced in
relationship to each other.
The lower three chakras are considered masculine in nature and
call us to action. They help to ground us and are usually concerned with the material world.
The higher three chakras are feminine in nature and are associated with self-reflection and the
spiritual aspects of life.
The heart chakra is balanced in masculine and feminine energy and can help to balance other
chakras.
When Chakras are balanced, they allow our bodies to run at optimal levels and bring peace to our
lives.

How do tuning forks work to balance the chakras?
Tuning forks are a form of sound healing. Sound healing is possible because our bodies are not solid and is mostly made up of water, which conducts sound four times faster. Everything in the universe is made of vibration.
Our bodies are rhythmic and we instinctively know how we feel when that’s out of whack.
Many issues can be traced back to something in our body that is out of tune or has lost its vibrational rhythm. Tuning forks help us to synchronize with natural cycles. This enables us to find our balance which is fundamental to healing the physical body, mind and spirit.
The vibration and sound that the tuning fork makes helps to balance the body’s energy. It reduces tension and promotes emotional harmony. It works in a similar way to acupuncture but instead of needles, sound frequencies are used to stimulate points in the body.
The increase in energy flow created by using the tuning forks helps to remove blocked energy in the body. The removal of the blocks help to lower stress and tension, enhance relaxation, stimulate chi, bring tranquility, and inspires calm.
There are two types of tuning forks -- weighted and unweighted.
At Moon Phase, weighted tuning forks are used during chakra balancing treatment. These are tuning forks that have weights at the end of each prong. They generate stronger and deeper vibrations than unweighted forks.
After striking a tuning fork, a tone is produced. By slowly moving the tuning fork over the aura, it can offer healing properties, especially when used with each chakra. The ends can be put directly on the body, with or without a healing crystal associated with a chakra, (however, effectiveness is increased when crystals are used underneath the tuning fork).
Tuning forks are made in such a way that they generate a pure sound, with a specific amount of vibrations every second.
To enable chakra healing with the use of tuning forks, it’s good to know what each of the seven chakras requires when it comes to healing sound.
The frequencies are measured in hertz (Hz). As the Pure Integrated Health Services Foundation reports, here are the frequencies commonly used to stimulate the different chakras and what it helps, in general:
-
1st chakra (root) makes use of 194.18 Hz and it helps to release fear and guilt.
-
2nd chakra (sacral) makes use of 210.42 Hz and it enables change.
-
3rd chakra (solar plexus) makes use of 126.22 Hz and it enables transformation.
-
4th chakra (heart) makes use of 136.10 Hz and it helps you connect to others.
-
5th chakra (throat) makes use of 141.27 Hz and it encourages expression and solutions to problems.
-
6th chakra (third eye) makes use of 221.23 Hz and it encourages the intuition to be awakened.
-
7th chakra (crown) makes use of 172.06 Hz and connects you to the Universe.
Chakra tuning forks are designed to emit the frequency of each chakra to help bring them into balance.
